Key Stages
I offer tuition for students that are in key stage 3-5 which is aged 11-18 but I will also offer tuition for adults or learners who are studying science outside of the standard school system. Please feel free to talk to me if your circumstances differ as I'm sure I'll be able to help.
Key Stage 3
Many schools will vary their curriculum at key stage 3. This is because there is more freedom at this age as they will not be studying for their GCSE's until year 9 or year 10. Students in year 7 and 8 tend to be taught a curriculum that is unique to their school. If you'd like support with key stage 3 science, I will require some information from you regarding the tutee's school curriculum.
Key Stage 4
During key stage 4 your child will be preparing for their GCSE exams. These may be triple (sometimes called separate) science or double science. There is also BTEC science, entry level science and iGCSE (the internationally recognised GCSE). I can support all of the above however I will need to know the exam board that your child is studying. These are usually AQA, Edexcel, or OCR.
Key Stage 5
At key stage 5 I will tutor AS and A-level Physics. The exam boards can vary so I will need to know which one your child is studying. There are also a number of practical examinations called ISA's or PAG's. It will be useful to know which of these will be taught. If you get in touch with your school they should be able to tell you this information.
